Introduction
This review is covers the VacMaster PRO305 and the
Vacuum Sealers Unlimited services. I originally
owned a FoodSaver and was looking for a better bag.
I stumbled on Vacuum Sealers Unlimited and thought
I'd try their bags. I placed an order with Lisa
Bilatto and discussed the products and services she
provides. Lisa sent me a VacMaster PRO260 as well
as the PRO170 to test
and review. Both turned out to be exceptional vacuum
sealing units and both were full featured. I also found the bags
to be superior to the FoodSaver bags and at a better
price. I used the VacMaster PRO260 for over a year
and used the PRO170 for six months. I recently was
sent the VacMaster PRO305 with a 12" bar, dual
piston pump and dual
sealing capability. This review will provide viewers
with product information, demonstration and my
thoughts on the product over time.
Note: The Vacmaster Pro306 has been
replaced by the VacmasterPro350. They are the same
unit with the addition of the following.
- Built-In 50' roll storage & roll cutter
- It has a vacuum pressure sensor - Set the
pressure so you don't squish foods like cherry
tomatoes.
- New 5mm super wide single seal, which is
more effective and the widest in the industry.
Price: $239 - Subject to
change

Pro350
First Glance
At first glance the unit was packaged very well.
During the un-boxing I first noticed the weight.
Much like the PRO170 this is a well built stainless steel vacuum sealer
with a commercial look and feel to it as it weighs
in at 15 lbs. The digital display was easy to read
and straight forward. The User's guide is also easy
to read and simple to follow. In the box was the vacuum sealer, power
cord, accessory vacuum hose, user's guide, spare
heating strip and assorted vacuum bags.

Operation
The unit is very straight forward to use.
Standard Sealing: Simply place your meats, fish or
left over's into a bag. Lay the bag with the
corrugated side of the bag on the bottom. Place the
bag over the seal bar half way into the trough area.
close the lid and press down slightly. Press start
and the unit will begin pulling air from the bag.
Once it starts drawing air out of the bag you no
longer need to press down on the lid. Once maximum
vacuum is reached the unit will seal the bag with a
primary seal and secondary seal. These seals are
done simultaneously eliminating a second seal
process for a second seal known as a safety seal.
Other sealers force you to go through the vacuum and
seal process twice. This time can add up if you are
packaging allot of product.
Accessory Sealing: This unit has a
accessory vacuum line that is used in marinating or
sealing using the optional plastic containers. These
containers have a lid with a twist valve on top.
There are three settings.
- Open: Used for marinating or releasing
vacuum.
- Vacuum: Used to apply vacuum when sealing
for storage.
- Lock: Used to lock the container for storage
so the hose can be removed.
Sealing for storage is easy. Place your leftovers
in the container and install the lid. Move the valve
to vacuum. On the controls press the accessory
button and the unit will begin to draw air. Press
firmly down on the lid until the vacuum starts. Once
the lid is pulled down into place you no longer have
to apply pressure. When the unit beeps move the
valve into the locked position and remove the vacuum
hose. You may now place your container into your
fridge.
Marinating: The VacMater PRO305 has a
special marinating feature that allows foods to
achieve optimum flavor infusion in the least
amount of time. While in marinating mode, the PRO305
will alternate back and forth between a state of
vacuum and a state of rest.
Important Note: When using canister for
marinating, the knob on the canister lid should be
set to “Open.”
Place the food and marinade in
the "Optional" canister. This canister is sold
separately. Ensure the rim of the canister is clean
and dry, and no food or liquid has been spilled on
the lid. Ensure the knob on the canister lid is set
to the “Open” position. Press the “Marinate” button
once for Quick Marinate (15 min) and twice for
Normal Marinate (27 min). Either a 1, for Quick
Marinate, or a 2, for Normal Marinate will be
displayed. Press the “Start” button and then press
down slightly on the canister lid for a few seconds.
Your PRO305 will alternate between vacuuming and
releasing air. This process will take either 15 or
27 minutes depending on your selection. A series of
numbers will be shown on the digital display to
indicate the marinating process is in progress. When
complete, a zero will appear on the digital display
and the machine will beep continuously until the
“On/Off” button is pressed.
For immediate use, disconnect hose. For storage
under vacuum, turn knob on canister lid to “Lock”
before disconnecting the hose. Attach accessory
hose to port on canister lid, and attach opposite
end of the hose to accessory port on the machine.

What's Next
You have just read my introduction and operational
information on the VacMaster PRO350 vacuum sealer.
To date this is the best designed vacuum sealer I
have had my hands on. The unit weighs in at 15 lbs.
and is extremely well constructed. The price ranges
from $260 to $300. Build quality, ease of use and
price make this unit a good buy. I do allot
of cooking and allot of sealing and storing and I plan
on putting this unit through the paces over time. I
will follow this page and video up with more
information and videos along the way.
